Our story
About
We packed up our family and left our lives in the US to create the life we dreamt of in Italy. Here is a bit about how it started and how it's going...
The Farm
A bit about
The home we fell in love with was once the town's olive press. It still has the press downstairs and has become a favorite with our guests. The property came with about 750 olive trees and about 2 acres of vineyard where we grow sangiovese grapes.
We do all of the tending to the land, harvesting of the grapes and olives, and general upkeep ourselves. We are a sustainable and organic farm and take great care to maintain the traditions and practices that have been handed down to us by generations of local farmers.
The House
A bit about
The house dates back to the 1800's, local legend has it that during the battle of Semifonte in 1202, the locals hid their treasures in the grotta underneath our home. The house was subsequently named Tesoro, which in Italian translates to Treasure, which became our wine's namesake.
Our Wines
A bit about
We are pleased to have several vintages of our wines to offer and are currently hard at work on our new production. We even have wines in the cantina that date back to 1989! Follow along for updates on bottling dates.
The Family
A bit about
We are a team of 6. Our two eldest girls currently live in the states with Madeleine working in Houston, and Hannah studying at Wake Forest. The little ones have adjusted beautifully to our new life here and get spoiled by the grandparents in Rome.
Our Olive Oil
A bit about
The name of our olive oil production is 'Vecchio Frantoio', which translates to 'Old Olive Press'. Being that our home was the town's olive press long ago, we though it was a fitting tribute. We also used the design of the shield that is on the actual press, and carried the design through on the label of our olive oil and wine as well. Each order is bottled upon receiving an order to maintain freshness, and hand stamped with our signature wax seal.
